Geological Mapping
Craton Infra involves highly experienced geologists to carry out geological mapping at various scales, from regional levels (1:50,000 to 1:10,000) to more detailed prospect-levels (>1:10,000 to 1:100). Our geologists generate geological data with great accuracy, which can be significantly important for the government organizations, academic institutions and to the commercial sectors as well. Deeper understanding of geology of the surface and subsurface is quite useful before initiating any engineered projects. CIPL undertake mapping not only for identifying mineral resources, however also for investigating hydrocarbon resources, groundwater prospect zones, natural hazard (earthquake, landslides, floods etc.) zones and smart city planning as well.
Geomorphological Mapping
Our geologists undertake large scale (1:10,000 and less) geomorphological mapping using high resolution satellite data along with rigorous field checks, which is need of an hour for any developing countries as well as for quite significant for the developed countries as well. A proper smart city planning can only be possible with the in-depth knowledge of surface topography. Proper planning of drainages, road networks and infrastructures can’t be possible without the use of geomorphological maps. It becomes quite significant to curtail the damages occur due to flood hazard such as happened at Chennai and Kerala in the recent past. A proper city planning and its management is not possible without the use of geomorphological maps.
Structural Mapping
Knowledge and understanding of small to regional scale geological structures viz., folds, faults, joints etc., are quite important for developing any engineered structures such as Dams, tunnels, underground caverns, underground oil storage tanks, metros etc. Our geologists are well versed in identifying geological structures and interpreting their implications on any civil engineering structures. CIPL has capacity to carry out both surface as well as subsurface structural mapping using geological and geophysical surveys.
